Dengue Surveillance in Martinique. Update as of December 19, 2019.
Epidemiological Situation
The circulation of the dengue virus continues to intensify and spread throughout the region:
The threshold for clinically suggestive cases has been exceeded for three consecutive weeks (weeks 2019-47 and 2019-50);
The number of biologically confirmed cases has continued to rise since the resurgence began in September;
A spatial pattern indicating continued spread of the virus in central-northern and southern Martinique, with a total of 19 out of 34 municipalities reporting laboratory-confirmed dengue cases (weeks 2019-47 to 2019-50);
A predominance of the DENV-3 serotype (71%), which has not been circulating in Martinique for some time and is a minority strain.
