Dengue Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of October 29, 2020.
Epidemiological Situation
Guadeloupe: The epidemic continues to spread rapidly throughout the territory. Since the start of the epidemic (late 2019), one death directly linked to dengue has been reported. Serotype 2 remains the predominant circulating serotype.
Saint Martin: An average of about 50 clinically suspected dengue cases has been reported each week for the past 4 weeks (weeks 40–43 of 2020, October), indicating an increase in dengue activity on the island. The outbreak continues. One death has been reported since the start of the outbreak (early 2020). Serotype DENV-1 is widely detected.
Saint Barthélemy: The decline in dengue surveillance indicators continues, though levels remain high. The current epidemic is ongoing. Analysis of recent samples has detected exclusively the DENV-1 serotype.
