Dengue Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of February 20, 2020.

Epidemiological Situation

In Guadeloupe, the outbreak continues. An increase in key surveillance indicators has been observed. Since the start of the outbreak (mid-October 2019), nearly 5,840 cases clinically suggestive of dengue have been seen in private practice, and 243 emergency room visits have been recorded. The predominant circulating serotype is serotype 2.

In Saint Martin, the epidemic continues at moderate levels. Since the start of the epidemic (mid-January), an estimated 530 cases have been reported in private practice, and 20 emergency room visits have been recorded. The predominant circulating serotype is serotype 1.

In Saint-Barthélemy, surveillance indicators dropped back to low levels last week. The predominant circulating serotype is serotype 2.
