Dengue Surveillance in the Caribbean. Update as of April 27, 2023.
Key Points
In Guadeloupe, the virus continues to circulate throughout the archipelago. However, a decline in surveillance indicators has been observed, with a few sporadic cases reported and an outbreak in Saint-François (Anse des Rochers). This trend is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
In Martinique, the dengue virus continues to circulate, primarily in the southern part of the island. Surveillance indicators remain relatively stable.
The DENV-2 serotype has been identified in both territories.
In Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy, the situation remains calm. Various factors (traveler traffic, large events) could quickly lead to a deterioration of the epidemiological situation.
