Key indicators

Individual Monitoring

  • 154 confirmed cases; an average of two new confirmed cases reported per day since early April

Community surveillance

  • SOS Médecins: 512 consultations for suspected COVID-19 per 10,000 consultations in Week 14 (versus 183 in Week 13)

  • Sentinelles Network: 141 (tele)consultations for acute respiratory infections per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 14 (versus 174 in Week 13)

  • Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes: no outbreaks of acute respiratory infections linked to Covid-19 had been reported as of April 7, 2020

Hospital surveillance

  • Emergency department visits (PZQ site): 173 visits for suspected COVID-19 out of 655 visits for all causes in Week 14 (26%) versus 267 out of 757 in Week 13 (35%)

  • Hospital laboratories: 23% of tests were positive in Week 14 (versus 36% in Week 13)

  • ICU/intensive care units: 44% of patients aged 65 and older, 63% of patients with at least one risk factor, and 6% of recorded deaths

All-cause mortality surveillance

  • No excess all-cause mortality across all age groups recorded as of March 29, 2020.
