Individual Surveillance

  • 151 biologically confirmed cases in Guadeloupe, 38 in Saint Martin, and 6 in Saint Barthélemy

  • Half of the cases in Guadeloupe and more than 70% of the cases in Saint Martin are suspected to be locally transmitted (autochthonous/secondary).

Community-based surveillance

  • Sentinelles Network: 132 estimated (tele)consultations for acute respiratory infections (ARI) in Guadeloupe (W17*; 155 in W16*), 4 in Saint Martin (W17*, 8 in W16*) and 2 (tele)consultations for ARI in Saint Barthélemy (W17*; 1 in W16*)

  • No biologically confirmed cases in community practice in S17*

Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes

  • 8 possible cases reported in 3 long-term care facilities, including 1 hospitalization as of 04/21/2020

Surveillance in hospitals

  • Oscour® network: 37 visits for suspected COVID-19 in Guadeloupe (Week 17*, 26 in Week 16*), no visits in Saint Martin (Week 17*, 2 in Week 16*) and 2 visits in Saint Barthélemy (Week 17*)

  • Hospital laboratories: no new positive cases identified last week (W17*) and a decrease in the positivity rate over the past three weeks

  • ICU/intensive care units: 65% of patients aged 65 and older and 62% with at least one risk factor in Guadeloupe, and 33% of patients aged 65 and older and 83% with at least one risk factor in Saint Martin

Mortality surveillance

  • No excess mortality detected in Guadeloupe through week S16*
