Key Points 

Leptospirosis 

  • To date, 221 locally acquired cases have been reported. A second death linked to leptospirosis has been reported, and investigations are underway to determine whether it is attributable to the disease.

 Chikungunya, Dengue 

  • 55 locally acquired cases of chikungunya and 331 locally acquired cases of dengue have been detected since the beginning of the year.
  • The level of circulation is currently very low in the middle of the Southern Hemisphere winter; only a few isolated cases are being reported at this time.

Flu-like illness 

  • Hospital health indicators remain at a high level (emergency department visits
    and hospitalizations for flu-like illness and acute lower respiratory tract infections)

Bronchiolitis in children under 1 year of age 

  • Health indicators are stable.

Acute gastroenteritis (AGE) 

  • Hospital indicators have remained stable over the past three weeks.

Smallpox B (Mpox)

  • During the month of June, 10 cases imported from Madagascar were reported, bringing the total to 25 cases (including 20 imported cases) since the beginning of the year.
