Young People, Nutrition, and Physical Activity.

Although children and adolescents demonstrate a good understanding of what constitutes a healthy diet, their food choices are primarily guided by their personal preferences. Furthermore, their physical activity levels decline as they approach adulthood, and sedentary activities take up an increasing portion of their leisure time. The results of two recent nutrition surveys presented here can guide educational initiatives targeting this young audience.[article excerpt]
