    • Incidence and hospitalization rates remain highest in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur

  • Overseas territories:

    • Guadeloupe: very high incidence rate and rising

    • Martinique: high incidence rate, decreasing very slightly

    • Persistent strain on hospitals and excess mortality from all causes and across all age groups in these two territories

  • 98.7% of cases identified as the Delta variant through sequencing in mainland France as of August 3, 2021

Contact tracing

  • Decrease in the number of reported contacts, suggesting a decline in the completeness of contact tracing

Prevention

  • Vaccination coverage in the general population as of August 17: 69.5% for one dose and 59.3% for full vaccination

  • CoviPrev survey from July 15 to 21:

    • Sleep problems decreasing for the first time in a year

    • Depressive symptoms have been decreasing since late April

  • Importance of combined measures: vaccination, preventive measures, and contact tracing
