In mainland France, the estimated number of new cases of lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma (LPL)/Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM) in 2018 was 1,317, of which 892 (68%) were in men and 425 in women (32%). Key points: Favorable prognosis with a 5-year age-adjusted net survival rate of 82% for individuals diagnosed between 2010 and 2015 (85% in women and 81% in men); 5-year net survival decreases with age, ranging from 95% in people aged 50 to 71% in those aged 80; 5-year net survival is higher in women, regardless of age at diagnosis (by 4 to 6 percentage points); Improvement in age-standardized net survival at 1 year (+6 percentage points) and at 5 years (+16 percentage points) over the 1995–2015 period, comparable across age groups at diagnosis; Improvement in age-standardized net survival at 10 years (+20 percentage points) between 1995 and 2010.
