Survival of Cancer Patients in Metropolitan France, 1989–2018 – Leukemia/Lymphoblastic Lymphoma of Precursor Cells (B, T, or UCCL)
In France, in 2018, the estimated number of new cases of precursor-cell leukemias and lymphoblastomas (L/LL) (B-cell, T-cell, or unspecified [SAI]) was 900, including 517 cases in men and 383 in women. Key points: 5-year age-standardized survival rate of 54% for individuals diagnosed between 2010 and 2015 (comparable for men and women); A very steep gradient in 5-year net survival between individuals diagnosed at age 20 (74%) and those diagnosed at age 80 (13%); A sharp decline in excess mortality rates during the first three years of follow-up among individuals diagnosed between 2010 and 2015 (though it remains above zero 5 years after diagnosis).
