Social and Family Service Workers: Addressing Perinatal Vulnerability.
Researchers, faculty members, and professionals in the field of perinatal care jointly conducted an action research study to analyze the home-based interventions of social and family intervention technicians (TISF) with mothers, parents, and their babies. Through building trust, providing material support, offering advice, and stepping back, TISFs in the perinatal field work to forge or rebuild the bonds between parents and their babies. In this way, they contribute to the family’s informal support network, especially when the family’s own support system can no longer fulfill this role.
