Public Policy to Support Breastfeeding: The Brazilian Experience.

For several decades, Brazil has implemented a strategy to promote breastfeeding as part of its public health policy. This comprehensive program includes media campaigns, training for healthcare professionals, individualized breastfeeding counseling, and regulations that support the practice. Maternity leave has been extended to six months since 2008, but the "bottle-feeding culture" remains strong.
