Diabetes: Prevalence and the Role of Lifestyle and Dietary Measures in Its Treatment. Overview of the Initial Findings from the 2024 Santé publique France Barometer

In 2024, 7.1% of adults reported having diabetes. Of these, 11% were managed exclusively through lifestyle and dietary measures, 81% through medication, and 8% reported receiving no treatment. Socioeconomic disparities are significant, with a higher prevalence of diabetes among people with less than a high school diploma or among manual laborers. Regional disparities are pronounced, with particularly high prevalence rates in the overseas departments and regions (except French Guiana), in Hauts-de-France, and in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
