Implementing Health-Promoting Urban Planning: The Story of Three "Boosters"
Health-Promoting Urban Planning (HPUP) aims to integrate health and well-being as central criteria in urban planning policies by addressing environmental, social, and behavioral determinants. This approach helps reduce exposure to risks (pollution, heat, isolation) and promote exposure to protective factors (green spaces, active mobility, access to healthcare). Three “boosters” have been organized to accelerate the rollout of HUP in France. These events, based on collective intelligence and a multidisciplinary approach, bring together a diverse range of stakeholders (elected officials, urban planners, researchers, and organizations) to collaboratively develop innovative solutions.
