When did the tuberculosis infection occur in patients who had traveled abroad?

Among patients with tuberculosis who were born abroad, the average time from their most recent stay abroad to the onset of tuberculosis is less than 4 years, whereas the time from their first arrival in France is 10 years. Among patients born in France, 30% had lived abroad. Seventy percent of patients reported having had no contact with a person with tuberculosis. These findings complement certain epidemiological insights provided by mandatory tuberculosis reporting regarding migrant populations and people born in France. (R.A.)
