The following updates to the 2019 travel recommendations are worth noting: incorporation of the HAS’s recommendations on vaccinations, a reminder regarding the conditions for using chloroquine, dangers associated with Artemisia-based preparations, and risks related to ticks and animals other than arthropods...).Three points deserve your particular attention:• In accordance with WHO recommendations, for certain countries where Plasmodium vivax is widespread, it may be justified—in situations of high exposure and when chloroquine is not used—to prescribe other antimalarial drugs;• An epidemiological map of rabies has been added to inform the recommendation for preventive vaccination in “high-risk” countries;• a sidebar summarizing recommendations for pregnant or breastfeeding women (who are traveling), in order to address the significantly increasing demand from this population.
