Tobacco Info Service (0825 309 310 - €0.15/min): analysis of calls received between December 2003 and March 2004.
At a time when smoking cessation clinics are overwhelmed with requests, INPES is offering smokers a telephone service designed to help them quit. This article describes the service, analyzes the calls received, provides insight into the profiles of callers, and examines the impact that conversations with the line’s smoking cessation counselor may have had on smokers’ ability to quit.
