The roles and effective strategies of primary care physicians in smoking cessation.

This article provides an overview of recommended actions to help general practitioners effectively assist smokers in quitting. Some of these actions should be carried out during consultations in private practice or at the hospital, while others are part of the collective strategies needed to increase smoking cessation rates in France.
