Health warnings on cigarette packs: How effective are they in the fight against smoking?

In this article, we will demonstrate that health warnings on cigarette packs, under certain conditions, improve public awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco, influence behavioral responses (encouraging people to quit smoking or not to start), and counteract the marketing efforts of tobacco companies regarding cigarette packaging. Therefore, it is urgent for France to adopt the recommendations of Article 11 of the World Health Organization’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control regarding these health warnings. (R.A.)
