Key Points
- In Week 33 (August 10–16, 2026), the number of cases handled by SOS Médecins was down among children under 2 years old (-8%, or -311 cases) and remained stable in other age groups compared to the previous week.
- Amid a heat wave, there was an increase in cases—reaching levels comparable to previous years—for heatstroke across all age groups (+99%, or +130 cases) and dehydration among adults (+38%, or +45 cases).
- Cases involving insect bites were also on the rise among adults (+16%, or +105 cases), as were cases of allergies among those aged 75 and older (+31%, or +17 cases), at levels comparable to previous years.
- Among other conditions, there was an increase in cases of impetigo among children aged 2–14 (+18%, or +104 cases), accounting for a higher proportion of total cases than in previous years. There was also an increase in upper respiratory tract conditions among those aged 15–74 (+9%, or +798 procedures).
