Summary

  • In week 42 (October 16–22, 2017), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable across all age groups.

  • Among seasonal conditions, there was an increase in consultations for bronchiolitis (+19%, or +46 consultations) and bronchitis (+7%, or +25 consultations) among children under 2 years of age. In small sample sizes, there was an increase in consultations for infectious conjunctivitis among children under 15 years of age (+7%, or +27 consultations). Among adults, all indicators are either declining or stable, with the exception of consultations for allergies among those aged 15–74 (+7%, or +37 consultations).

  • Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in consultations for stomatology (+27%) and vomiting (+9%) among children under 2 years of age. Among those aged 2–14, there was an increase in consultations for viral syndrome (+12%) and acute abdominal pain (+9%). For adults aged 15–74, there was an increase in consultations for digestive disorders (+13%), urinary tract infections (+7%), and anxiety (+6%). Finally, among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in consultations for cardiac issues, as well as an increase in deaths (+7%, or +18 deaths).
