Key Points

In Week 21 (May 19–25, 2025), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased compared to Week 20 among 2- to 14-year-olds (+8%, or +1,472 visits) and remained stable in other age groups.

Among children and adults, several indicators related to respiratory or infectious diseases are on the rise this week. There has been an increase in medical procedures for:

  • upper respiratory tract infections among 2- to 14-year-olds (+15%, or +1,111 procedures) and among those aged 75 and older (+10%, or +26 procedures), at levels comparable to previous years;

  • bronchitis among 2- to 14-year-olds (+27%, or +60 procedures) and among those aged 75 and older (+17%, or +46 procedures);

  • viral syndrome in children aged 2–14 (+17%, or +52 cases) and in adults aged 15–74 (+10%, or +35 cases);

  • suspected COVID-19 among 2- to 14-year-olds (+53%, or +17 cases) and among 15- to 74-year-olds (+14%, or +42 cases), though these remain at low levels;

  • asthma attacks among 2- to 14-year-olds (+31%, or +118 visits) and among 15- to 74-year-olds (+16%, or +88 visits), at a level slightly higher than in previous years among children.

Among children aged 2–14, there was also an increase in visits for isolated fever (+14%, or +55 visits), infectious conjunctivitis (+12%, or +43 visits), and vomiting (+15%, or +24 visits). Procedures for chickenpox, meanwhile, increased among children under two years of age (+27%, or +21 procedures), as did visits for various dermatological conditions (+13%, or +12 procedures). Among those under 15 years of age, the proportion of procedures for general malaise was higher than in previous years but based on a small sample size (25 procedures in S21).

Finally, among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in cases involving trauma (+14%, or 45 cases) as well as falls (+21%, or 29 cases).
