SOS Médecins National Newsletter, May 18, 2010

Over the past week, the total volume of activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable compared to the previous week across all age groups. An increase in activity was observed on Ascension Thursday, except in the Northern region; however, this increase was less significant than during the weekend.

The proportion of cases for the "gastroenteritis" indicator has stabilized across all geographic regions and now accounts for only 15% of total activity. The same is true for the allergies indicator, which has stabilized across all geographic regions in France.The reasons for calls regarding asthma among those over 2 years of age remain stable. For information, calls regarding insect bites and chickenpox have decreased compared to last week (graphs not shown).

The number of deaths certified by SOS Médecins is comparable to that of the previous week.
