Key Points
In Week 19 (May 5–11, 2025), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among those under 15 years of age (+15%, or 2,452 visits) and among those aged 15–74 (+16%, or 6,058 visits). It remained stable among those aged 75 and older. This increase is linked to the long weekend of May 8.
The indicators generally followed the increase observed in overall activity. In particular, there was an increase in procedures for:
Digestive disorders:
vomiting among those under 15 years old (+45%, or +57 cases) and among those aged 15–74 (+43%, or +65 cases)
gastroenteritis among those aged 2–14 (+23%, or +284 cases) and among those aged 15 and older (+23%, or +538 cases)
acute abdominal pain, in both children and adults (+25%, or +327 cases)
Respiratory conditions:
bronchitis, in both children and adults (+14%, or +297 visits)
upper respiratory tract conditions in those under 75, particularly in those aged 2–14 (+24%, or +1,190 cases)
suspected COVID-19 in those aged 15–74 in small patient groups (+36%, or +50 cases)
allergies (in small patient groups) in those under 2 years of age (+20%, or +15 visits) and in those 75 years of age or older (+15%, or +8 visits)
cough among those under 75, particularly among 2- to 14-year-olds (+21%, or +349 visits)
Among other indicators, there was also an increase in procedures for general malaise (+15%, or +28 procedures) and low back pain (+17%, or +423 procedures) among those over 15 years of age. Among those aged 15–74 in particular, there was also an increase in cases of urinary tract infection (+19%, or +259 cases) and infectious conjunctivitis (+14%, or +56 cases).
Across all age groups, there was an increase in SOS Médecins calls for trauma (+13%, or 388 calls) (particularly among those under 15), anxiety (+15%, or 159 calls), and depression (+41%, or 76 calls).
