Summary

In Week 9 (February 24–March 1, 2020), the third week of school vacation, activity continued to decline among children, particularly those aged 2–14 (down 15%, or 3,162 visits), while remaining stable among adults.

Among the non-specific indicators, there was an increase in visits for isolated fever and allergies among adults (up 14% and 29.7%, respectively, or 52 and 35 visits) and children under 2 years of age (up 8.8% and 9.5%, respectively, or 20 and 59 visits). Seasonal indicators were mostly stable or declining. There was a slight increase in procedures for bronchitis among adults (+6%, or +213 procedures). Furthermore, among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in most indicators (both nonspecific and seasonal): vomiting (+26.8%), malaise (+20%), asthma (+11%), conjunctivitis (+36.8%), pneumonia (+15%), ENT conditions (+20%), and influenza/flu-like syndrome (+25.5%; declining in other age groups).
Regarding influenza, activity has decreased in most regions of France, and the epidemic peak has been reached in all metropolitan regions.

Among other indicators, the only notable change is the increase in treatments for chickenpox among children under 2 years of age (+30%, or +26 treatments).
