SOS Médecins National Newsletter, July 7, 2015
Summary
Overall activity at health centers has increased by 9% among those aged 75 and older, and by approximately 3% among children under 15, with figures close to expectations.
Visits for heat-related conditions have risen sharply across all age groups, with the number of visits increasing three- to fivefold and a marked rise during the week. A slight decline is visible by the end of the week, except in the eastern and southeastern regions, where heat-related visits account for 5% to 8% (east) of total emergency department activity. The number of patients across all age groups is significantly higher than in the previous four years.
There is an increase in visits for isolated fever among children under 15, for malaise among adults under 75, and for insect bites across all age groups. For these three indicators, the number of visits across all age groups is higher than in previous years during this period.
