Summary
In Week 30 (July 22–28, 2019), total SOS Médecins activity rose slightly among those aged 75 and older (+4%, or +294 cases), fell among children under 2 years old (-7%), and remained stable in other age groups.
Over the past week, only cases related to the heat wave increased
:- Heatstroke across all age groups, with a 247% increase (472 cases), accounting for 1% of the network’s activity. The increase was highest among adults (+363%);
- Dehydration among adults (+97%, or +113 cases)
; - Insect bites among adults (+18%, or +107 cases);
- General malaise among adults (+17%, or +59 cases).
Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in cases
:- in children under 2 years of age for viral syndrome and diarrhea (+15%) as well as for stomatological disorders (+10%) ;
- among those aged 15–74 for anxiety (+15%);
- among those aged 75 and older for deaths (+20%), urinary tract infections (+17%), and falls (+16%).
