SOS Médecins National Newsletter, August 24, 2010

Over the past week, the total volume of activity at SOS Médecins clinics has remained stable. This trend applies to all age groups.

The number of calls for the "feeling unwell" and "fever" indicators remained stable, including among people over 75. The "allergies" indicator was comparable to that of the previous week.

The number of deaths certified by SOS Médecins associations increased slightly compared to the previous week.

Over the past weekend, there was a slight increase in calls related to direct effects of the heat, as well as diagnoses of heatstroke and dehydration (linked to a temporary rise in temperatures). However, these increases are less significant than those observed during the heatwave in July. Calls regarding insect bites have also been more frequent in recent days.
