Key Points
In Week 17 (April 21–27, 2025), during the school break for Zones A and C, activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained generally stable (+1%, or +1,204 visits), though there was a slight increase in the number of visits among those aged 75 and older (+5%, or +319 visits).
Among both children and adults, there was an increase in
for insect bites across all age groups (+32%, or +102 visits);
for isolated fever among children under 2 years of age (+18%, or +36 visits) and among adults (+34%, or +91 visits);
for digestive disorders: vomiting (+7%, or +19 visits among children; +17%, or +45 visits among adults), acute abdominal pain (+8%, or +30 visits among 2- to 14-year-olds; +10%, or +128 visits, among those aged 15–74) and, to a lesser extent, for gastroenteritis (+4%, or +76 visits, among children aged 2–14; +8%, or +12 visits, among those aged 75 and older).
Visits related to other conditions (particularly infectious, respiratory, and traumatic) are also on the rise in certain age groups:
among children, procedures for trauma are rising among those aged 2–14 (+14%, or +75 procedures), as are procedures for chickenpox among those under 2 years old (+28%, or +24 procedures), though they remain at lower levels than in previous years;
among those aged 15–74, there has been an increase in visits for infectious conjunctivitis (+9%, or +49 visits) and, in small numbers, for suspected COVID-19 (+11%, or 24 visits), malaise (+21%, or +22 visits), and viral meningitis (16 visits vs. 5 in S16);
among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in visits for upper respiratory tract infections (+13%, or +47 visits), bronchitis (+7%, or +28 visits), pneumonia (+9%, or 33 cases), deterioration in general health (+15%, or 40 cases), low back pain/sciatica (+25%, or 61 cases), and various cardiac conditions (+37%, or 45 cases).
Regarding mental health indicators, there was an increase in cases of anxiety among those aged 15–44 (+8%, or +71 cases) and those aged 45–64 (+14%, or +36 cases).
