Key Points
In Week 32 (August 5–11, 2024), emergency department visits and hospitalizations following such visits were stable or declining across all age groups compared to the previous week.
Seasonal indicators are mostly stable or declining, with the exception of visits for COVID-19 (+40%, or +77 visits) among children under 2 years of age and for allergies (+7%, or +37 visits) among children aged 2–14.
Among other indicators, among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in visits for specific abdominal pain (+7%, or +136 visits), for nonspecific abdominal pain (+6%, or +97 visits), and for chest pain (+6%, or +86 visits).
