Mental Health. Monthly Update, May 2022.

Key Points

Week 17:

  • In the emergency room: Among 11- to 17-year-olds, visits for suicide attempts, suicidal ideation, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders increased in Week 17, following a decrease noted in the previous two weeks. These indicators remain stable or are decreasing among 18- to 24-year-olds. Patient numbers remain at high levels in these age groups, higher than those observed in early 2021. Visits for suicidal thoughts also remain at a high level, observed since early 2022, among adults aged 25–64 and, to a lesser extent, those aged 65 and older.

  • In the SOS Médecins network: an increase in cases involving depressive states is noted among people aged 65 and older, but the number of cases remains at levels comparable to those of previous years.
