Mental Health. Monthly Update, July 2, 2024.
Key Points
Admissions for suicidal behavior and ideation, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders followed a downward trend, which is typical for this time of year among children. Admissions for suicidal behavior and ideation remained at a higher level than in previous years among 11- to 17-year-olds as well as 18- to 24-year-olds.
Among adults, admissions for anxiety were at the upper end of the range observed in previous years, as were, on an occasional basis, admissions for depressive episodes.
Other indicators showed little change or remained within the fluctuation ranges of previous years. However, a spike in cases of acute alcohol intoxication was noted among 15- to 17-year-olds and 18- to 24-year-olds in S25 (notably during Music Festival week).
