Mental Health. Monthly Update, July 2, 2024.

Key Points

  • Admissions for suicidal behavior and ideation, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders followed a downward trend, which is typical for this time of year among children. Admissions for suicidal behavior and ideation remained at a higher level than in previous years among 11- to 17-year-olds as well as 18- to 24-year-olds.

  • Among adults, admissions for anxiety were at the upper end of the range observed in previous years, as were, on an occasional basis, admissions for depressive episodes.

  • Other indicators showed little change or remained within the fluctuation ranges of previous years. However, a spike in cases of acute alcohol intoxication was noted among 15- to 17-year-olds and 18- to 24-year-olds in S25 (notably during Music Festival week).
