Key Points
Nationally, following a moderate excess of deaths from all causes observed between weeks 32 and 36 (September 9–12, 2021), the number of deaths across all age groups returned to within the usual range of fluctuation in weeks 37–39.
In Martinique and Guadeloupe, the number of deaths has continued to decline since week 34. Deaths remained above normal in Martinique through week 38 and in Guadeloupe through week 36.
In French Guiana, a more pronounced excess of deaths was noted in weeks 38 and 39, while the number of deaths was already moderately elevated between weeks 29 and 37.
