Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, November 15, 2016.

Summary

Nationally, the increase in mortality observed in weeks 41 and 42 and described in the November 8 bulletin was confirmed, with the rate slightly exceeding the upper limit of the fluctuation range. This increase primarily affected people aged 85 and older. Weeks 43 and 44 marked a return to levels typically observed.

In week 45 (November 7–13), 1,212 deaths were recorded via electronic certification; however, it is not possible to interpret the trend relative to previous weeks due to the low coverage rate for this source.
