Key Points
Nationally, based on INSEE data, the number of deaths across all age groups, which showed a moderate excess between weeks 12 and 18, appears to have returned to within the usual range of fluctuation in week 19.
This excess in deaths mainly affected people aged 65–84 (still above normal in Week 19) and those over 85 (who returned to normal fluctuation ranges in Week 17).
The number of electronically certified deaths decreased slightly in Week 20.
