Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, May 17, 2016.

Summary

Mortality observed during the first week of May (May 2–8) is close to, though slightly lower than, the expected mortality for this period, across all ages and age groups (Figures 1–3).Given the long weekends for Ascension Day and Pentecost, the time required to consolidate the data may be extended. These observations are to be confirmed in the coming weeks. The number of deaths certified electronically over the past two weeks is also decreasing.
