Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, July 4, 2017.
Summary
Based on mortality data provided by INSEE, the observed number of deaths from all causes during week 25 (June 19–25, 2017) is comparable to the expected number for this period across all age groups (Figures 1–3). Regarding children, following a significant increase in the number of deaths in week 24, observed mortality has returned to usual levels. Given the usual delays in data transmission, the observed mortality figures are still incomplete. Caution is therefore advised when interpreting these observations at both the national and regional levels.
According to data from electronic certification, 1,223 deaths were recorded during week 26 of 2017 (July 26–August 2, 2017) (Figure 4).
