Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, January 6, 2015.

Summary

During the third week of December (December 15–21, 2014 – Week 51), the number of deaths recorded by civil registry offices remained stable, with figures staying within the usual range of fluctuations for this period (Figures 1 and 2). This trend was also observed among those aged 65–84, whose numbers had slightly exceeded the threshold in week 50 (Figure 3). The number of deaths certified electronically over the past week (705 deaths from December 29 to January 4, 2015) shows an upward trend, consistent with the usual seasonal pattern.
