Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update for February 4, 2020

Summary

Nationwide, in week 04 of 2020, mortality rates remained within the usual range of variation across all age groups. The number of deaths among adults aged 15–64, which rose between weeks 51 of 2019 and 1 of 2020 (December 16 to January 5), has returned to normal levels since week 2 of 2020.

These observations should be interpreted with caution, as the data are still unconsolidated due to the usual transmission delays. Their purpose is to describe trends in mortality, without linking them to any current events.

According to data from electronic certification, 2,510 deaths were recorded in week 05 (January 27 to February 2, 2020).
