Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, December 12, 2017.

Summary

Based on mortality data reported by INSEE, the observed number of deaths from all causes during week 48 (November 27–December 3, 2017) remains within the usual range of fluctuation for this period, both for all ages and by age group (Figures 1–3).

Given the usual delays in data transmission, the observed mortality figures are still incomplete. Caution should therefore be exercised when interpreting these observations.

According to data from electronic certification, 1,600 deaths were recorded during week 49 of 2017 (December 4–10, 2017).
