Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, August 27, 2019

Nationwide, during week 33 (August 12–18), mortality across all ages and causes remained within the usual range of variation.
These findings should be interpreted with caution, as the data are not yet finalized due to standard reporting delays. Their purpose is to describe trends in mortality without linking them to any current events. A report on mortality observed during the two heat waves will be published in the fall.
According to data from electronic certification, 2,079 deaths were recorded in week 34 (August 19–25, 2019).
