Key Points

  • Nationally, based on INSEE data, the number of deaths in weeks 11 and 12 returned to within the usual range of fluctuation for all age groups and, since Week 08, for people aged 15–64 and those over 85. However, the number of deaths remained at the upper limit of the threshold for those aged 65–84 through Week 12.

  • The number of electronically certified deaths rose slightly in week 13.

  • An excess of deaths was observed in 3 metropolitan areas in week 10, 2 regions in week 11, and in the Grand-Est region in week 12 (unconsolidated figures).
