Key Points
The number of deaths remains significantly higher than expected between weeks S40-2020 and S14-2021 at the national level. A new increase in case numbers has been observed since week 11.
The number of deaths was higher than expected, particularly among people aged 65–84, through week 14, while it has returned to within the usual range of fluctuation since week 09 among those aged 85 and older
In week 14, excess deaths from all causes were observed in 5 regions (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France, and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) and in 19 metropolitan departments.
