Factors associated with sleep disorders: findings from the EVS survey.

About four in ten people report experiencing at least one of the five main symptoms of insomnia on a recurring basis. These sleep disorders become increasingly common with age. While women appear to be more vulnerable, this is likely due in part to the social roles they assume, which can negatively impact their quality of life, particularly in terms of mental distress. Experiencing violence also contributes to the development of regular sleep disorders, though the extent varies depending on the nature of the violence.
