Measles Outbreak in France. Epidemiological Bulletin as of March 20, 2019

  • Since January 1, 2019, 405 cases of measles have been reported (compared to 1,156 cases during the same period in 2018), including 127 (31%) hospitalizations (8 in intensive care), 34 (8%) cases complicated by pneumonia, and 1 death (encephalitis).

  • 93% of cases occurred in unvaccinated or inadequately vaccinated individuals.

  • 58 departments reported at least 1 case during the period.
