Measles Epidemiological Bulletin. Surveillance data as of March 13, 2019

Key Points

  • Since January 1, 2019, 350 cases of measles have been reported (compared to 966 cases during the same period in 2018), including 100 (29%) hospitalizations (5 in intensive care), 27 (8%) cases complicated by pneumonia, and 1 death (encephalitis).

  • 90% of cases occurred in unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated individuals.

  • 51 departments reported at least 1 case during the period.

  • Any case of measles, as soon as it is suspected, must be reported immediately to the relevant Regional Health Agency (link)
