Suicidal thoughts and reported suicide attempts (from the 2024 Public Health France Barometer – ages 18–79)

  • The main groups affected were girls aged 11–17 and women aged 18–24, with rates close to and lower than those observed nationally, respectively.

  • Approximately two-thirds of emergency department visits were followed by hospitalization.

Hospitalizations for self-harm (from the SNDS PMSI-MCO 2024 – all ages)

  • Unlike emergency room visits and hospitalizations, the primary group affected was men aged 45 and older, but the rates were lower than those observed nationally.
