Key Points
Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika
Since the last bulletin, 8 new episodes of local transmission of chikungunya have been identified: 4 in the Var, 1 in the Alpes-Maritimes, 2 in the Bouches-du-Rhône, and 1 in the Vaucluse. Several isolated cases with undetermined exposure have also been identified.
The Paca region is the most affected by local chikungunya transmission, with a total of 21 episodes of local transmission and 242 cases (+48 since the last update). Four episodes of dengue (10 cases) have also been identified.
West Nile Virus Infections
Since the last bulletin, no new cases of West Nile virus (WNV) infection have been reported. As of September 15, the Paca region has recorded 17 cases of WNV infection.

Surveillance ended on September 15, 2025.
Asthma at the Start of the School Year
One week after the start of the school year, emergency care visits for asthma among children under 15 have risen sharply: 254 emergency room visits (vs. 86 in Week 36), nearly half of which resulted in hospitalization (115 vs. 36 in Week 36), and 34 SOS Médecins calls (vs. 7 in Week 36).
