Health Monitoring in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region. Bulletin of June 11, 2025.

Key Points

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • Since the start of enhanced surveillance (May 1), 73 imported cases (+15 since the last update) have been identified in the region: 42 cases of chikungunya, 30 cases of dengue, and 1 case of Zika.

  • While the chikungunya outbreaks in Réunion and the dengue outbreaks in the Antilles continue to impact surveillance in mainland France, the decline in viral circulation in these territories, particularly in Réunion, is reflected in the number of imported cases reported in recent days.

West Nile

  • No indigenous cases have been detected in the region, or more broadly in mainland France, since the start of the enhanced surveillance period (May 1).

Heatwave

  • No heat wave is currently underway.

  • Activity of emergency services and SOS Médecins associations is lower than what is typically observed during this period.

Pollen exposure, which may pose an allergy risk

  • In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, the pollen index, established by Atmo France and accredited air quality monitoring associations, is at a high level, primarily due to grass pollen.

  • Activity related to allergies at SOS Médecins associations is decreasing.
